AREA INFORMATION: The African American Popular Culture Area is seeking panel sessions, papers, and proposals examining historical and/or contemporary aspects of African American popular culture including African American stereotypes, icons, artifacts, rituals, genres, holidays, art forms (music, orature, dance, literature, visual art, television, film, comic art, etc.), festivals, foodways, folklore and folklife, religion, and etc.
PROPOSAL INFORMATION:
Submit one-page descriptions with title and 150-word (or less) abstract (by post, FAX, or e-mail) to the Area Chair, Angela Nelson. All proposals should include contact information as well as DVD player requests (we cannot supply audio equipment, slide projectors, computers, or overhead projectors).
