The American Antiquarian Society is pleased to announce details of its 2006 conference, sponsored by the Program in the History of the Book in American Culture.
"Liberty/Égalité/Independencia: Print Culture, Enlightenment, and Revolution in the Americas, 1776-1826" will be held at AAS Friday, June 16, through Sunday, June 18, 2006. David S. Shields, McClintock Professor of Southern Letters at the University of South Carolina and conference chair, will deliver the Society's annual James Russell Wiggins Lecture in the History of the Book on Friday, June 16, which will serve as the conference keynote address. The Wiggins Lecture will be open to the general public as well as conference registrants.
