The Library of Michigan and its Foundation will present both Michigan Authors Day and Night of Notables on May 6th, 2006. The keynote speaker is Kevin Boyle, National Book Award winner for Arc of Justice: A Saga of Race, Civil Rights, and Murder in the Jazz Age. Arc of Justice covers the case of Dr. Ossian Sweet. Authors attending both the Michigan Authors Day & the Night of Notables include Dr. Charles K. Hyde (The Dodge Brothers), Gene Scott (Michigan Shadow Towns), and many others. The venue is the Library of Michigan, located in the Michigan Library and Historical Center at 702 W. Kalamazoo St. in Lansing. Weekend parking is free. The notable books website also contains information about the authors' tour, in which 51 libraries will be visited in the next several months.
