Call for Papers for a Proposed Essay Collection conerning representations of women and religion (religious symbolism) within 19th century British and/ or American fiction.
Please submit you essay (as well as a CV) for a proposed text, and our editors will review all submissions in a timely fashion.
Please note that this text has not been accepted by a publisher--it is a working idea / project, and as such we cannot guarantee publication.
It is our aim to review submissions and develop a collection of diverse and interesting essays--and then approach publishing houses when we have a detailed idea of exactly what we will publish. (Most publishers want either a complete manuscript or a breakdown of each chapter/essay--so it is hard to get an idea approved without posessing the material first).
We are interested in essays pertaining to new women fiction, sensationalism, fallen women, religion and gender roles, etc as they appear within popular female authored 19th century texts.
