Database on African and African American History for Teachers
The African New World Studies Program at Florida International University is currently seeking lesson plans and teaching units from educators of all levels.
In accordance with the Florida mandate requiring instruction of African American history in all public schools, in the state, the African New World Studies Program is creating a web resource that will house lesson plans and syllabi that may be used to facilitate instruction in African/ African American history and experience. If you have lesson plans and/or syllabi that you would like to have included in this internationally-available database, please send it as an attachment to:

This database will serve to provide an accessible bank of information that will enable us all to ensure that African American history lesson plans are available to everyone that desires to use them.
