Faculty, satff and graduate student sponsors:
Please encourage your undergraduate scholars to join us in Indianapolis this October to present papers helping us examine popular culture. In the past, the Midwest Popular Culture Association has hosted undergraduates whose interests ranged from Dracula to hip hop to Civil War re-enacting. Their paper sessions, as many attendees attest, are some of the most exciting of the entire annual meeting. The undergraduates love them, too--they have the chance to test the waters of the profession and depart with a new awareness of their own potential.
Sponsors should: choose the appropriate student-scholars; help them write and submit proposals, either for individual papers or for panels; lead them through research, composition, and revision; teach conference skills; and so on. (The Area Chair will gladly answer questions and provide mentors.)
Students must have a faculty/staff/graduate sponsor.
Inquiries or proposals should include full contact information for the student and the sponsoring faculty or staff member.
Send inquiries or proposals before May 15, 2006 to:
