The British Graduate Shakespeare Conference is a postgraduate forum, run by students for students, in which delegates can present their research in a friendly but academic environment. We welcome papers from all fields of research related to Shakespeare, the work of his contemporaries, conditions of the production and reception of Renaissance drama, performance and textual studies, and adaptations in theatre, film and music over the centuries. Our commitment to diversity and the exploration of a wide range of topics and approaches has been reflected in previous years by the attendance of delegates from all over the world, creating a compelling and refreshing research environment.
All graduate students are invited to give a paper at the conference, lasting approximately twenty minutes. Undergraduate students in their last two years of study are also invited and welcomed to the conference as auditors, and all delegates will have the opportunity to take advantage of the outstanding resources of Stratford-upon-Avon as a centre of Shakespearean research, including the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, and the Shakespeare Institute Library.
