This international conference will investigate the social, cultural, and political impact of the Second World War. Historians from Belgium, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, and Russia will approach the topic in two ways: First, they will relate experiences of the war and memories of it to one another beyond the caesura of 1945. Second, they will examine this process in a European context, by historical comparison and in a transnational perspective. - Registration required.
