A two day conference that will investigate the relationships between the history of imagined mental 'maps' - those that are used as cognitive and memory tools - and the history of the image of the cartographic map. This is an international conference bringing together historians at all stages of their academic careers. The keynote address will be given by Dr. Catherine Delano-Smith of the Institute for Historical Research.
