The Fiftieth Anniversary of The Oriental society of Australia (OSA) will be celebrated with an International Conference. The format will be focussing upon the relevance of Asian Studies in the 21st century.
The aim of this international and interdisciplinary conference is to bring together scholars from all over the globe, not only to discuss problems related to the study of history, culture and institutions of Asian countries but also to exchange news and views with colleagues in the humanities and arts, particularly those who study cultures derived from Europe, in the Americas and Australasia.
The conference will take place from the 3-7 December 2006, at the School of Languages and Cultures, University of Sydney, Australia.
An abstract of 200 words should be sent care of the Submissions Editor at OSA2006@arts.usyd.edu.au, by the 10th of April 2006.
