African American Studies: Promising Practices for South Carolina Schools

On October 26-28, the South Carolina Council for African American Studies will entertain topics that relate to the teaching of African and African American Studies for integration in all curriculum areas: Social Studies, Math, Sciences, English/language arts, fine arts, Global Studies, Business(Economics/Finance), Psycology, Sociology,etc. Subjects may include, current trends in teaching the African American experience, cultural diversity, and achievement gap issues. There will also be a special tribute to South Carolina African Americans in the Civil War and Recontruction. The conference will be held in Charleston, SC.
