Edited book of Online instruction modeling
The editors of this volume seek interdisciplinary, theoretical and applied papers for a collection of essays addressing online instructional modeling. We welcome essays that focus on (a) sound theories that define concepts and principles that further define conditions, strategies, and performance outcomes in online instructional modeling and (b) online instruction that models best practices with an emphasis on online pedagogy, learner characteristics, communication, online learning assessment, etc.
Topics may include, but are not limited to
• Learning sciences and systems design
• Theories in online learning and teaching
• Theories in communication and online design
• Instructional modeling and online instructional design
• Cognitive and psychological factors in online learning
• Best practices in instructional modeling and online teaching
• Effective online modeling and assessment
• Effective instructional technology and curriculum integration
• Emerging online pedagogical issues
• Learners strategies to achieve effective online communication and interaction
• Learners’ strategies to develop complex cognitive skill and problem solving skills in online learning
• Social and motivational factors that affect learners’ online learning
Submission Process:
Researchers and practitioners are invited to electronically submit on or before April 30, 2006, a 2-5 page (600-1500 word) manuscript proposal clearly explaining the mission and concepts of the proposed work. Submitters will be notified by June 15, 2006 about the status of their proposals. Authors of accepted proposals will be sent organizational guidelines, and completed essays are expected to be submitted by September 30,2006. Submitted essays will be blind-reviewed. The book is scheduled to be published by the Idea Group in 2007.
