Lecturer: Sherna Berger Gluck, Director Emeritus of the Oral History Program, California State University Long Beach
(OHA New Media Committee member, co-director of Virtual Oral/Aural History Archive at California State University Long Beach. In the archive, there are over 1,000 hours of original recordings in women's, ethnic, labor and local Long Beach history online. Publications are numerous; one of which is "Women's Words: The Feminist Practice of Oral History.)

Day 1 Keynote Speech by Sherna B. Gluck
With the rapid progress of Information Technology (IT) in the USA, Sherna Gluck was one of the first to deal with the new technology in Oral History by setting up an archive for the Internet. She will speak on its influence on the oral history interview skills, ethical issues, as well as the relationships of interviewer/interviewee and problems of publicizing the oral history contents on the website.
Day 2 Practice in oral history interview and presentations of case studies
Sherna Gluck will actually demonstrate an interview and comment on the skills with discussion on the dynamics between the interviewer and the interviewee. Q&A from the floor.
