Combined conference "Making Global and Local Connections: Historical Perspectives on Port Economics," to be held in Kotka, 18-20 August 2006 and session 58, "Making Global and Local Connections: Historical Perspectives on Port Economics", at the International Economic History Conference in Helsinki, 21 August 2006, program looks very interesting, indeed.
It is clear from the list of accepted papers that we have a major meeting of port historians from all continents. We strongly urge all to participate in both Kotka and Helsinki because the ideas, discussions and arguments developed during these four intensive days will provide a unique opportunity to delve deeply into the very heart of global port history.
