Call for Proposals for a Young Researchers Workshop
With 'Young Researchers Workshops (YRW)' the Standing Group of International Relations (SGIR) of the ECPR offers a new opportunity for young scholars (advanced doctoral students and recent post-docs) to familiarize themselves
with academic conferencing. The workshop scheme seeks to advance networking, publication and academic discussion among young researchers. Towards that end, the SGIR offers an award of up to 5.000 EURO to finance a workshop which either precedes, accompanies or follows the Pan-European Conference on International Relations at the University of Turin in 2007. With a view to enhancing equal opportunities to academic collaboration, the scheme seeks to fund especially those workshop proposals which involve at least 51% participants from new and candidate EU member states. Preference will be given to those proposals which target novices to the international academic conference business.
SGIR welcomes workshop proposals on a topic of relevance to current International Relations research. Ideally, a workshop proposal will involve a brief 500 word summary of the workshop topic, an outline indicating how the 5.000 EURO will be spent and a list of potential participants. The YRW
committee consisting of Bernhard Zangl, Antje Wiener, Stefano Guzzini, and Milica Delevic-Djilas will accept full proposals until 31st May 2006.
Successful workshop convenors will be notified so that they can prepare a call for papers with a deadline of 31 January 2007.
