New International Bachelor and Master Programme in European Studies
The University of Southern Denmark and the University of Flensburg (Germany) offer new international programmes on European Studies to be taught at the Sønderborg Campus and in Flensburg.
International Programme taught in English
With the new study programme in European Studies, students will have the opportunity of following, understanding, and contributing to the development in Europe - in the past, in the present, and in the future.
The programme, which is international and taught entirely in English - and which is expected to draw students from all over the word – has a special focus on regional development. In addition, there is a focus on border and cross-border issues as well.
During the programme, students will study business administration, economics, political science, geography, contemporary history, and cultural subjects. Students will also be offered opportunities for studying abroad or be given the opportunity of obtaining an internship.
Bachelor and Master Programme in Cooperation between Sønderborg and Flensburg
The three-year long Bachelor programme is offered at the University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg. The two-year long Master programme is offered in cooperation with the University of Flensburg in Germany.
Both programmes give an insight into relevant European themes and issues within the disciplines of social science and the humanities.
The Bachelor programme leads to the degree Bachelor of Social Sciences (BA) in European Studies, whereas the Master programme leads to the degree Master of Social Sciences in European Studies. Both programmes have been approved by the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. The certification is under way in Germany as well.
At the University of Southern Denmark, the Department of Border Region Studies is responsible for the European Studies programmes.
Co-funded by EU’s INTERREG III A
The new programmes in European Studies have been developed in close cooperation between the University of Southern Denmark and the University of Flensburg (Germany). The cross-border European Studies programme is an INTERREG III A-project funded in part by the European Union.
