We are seeking one or two panelists and one commentator for a session at the 2006 Social Science History Association Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The proposed session deals with Citizenship and Civil Services in Urban Communities in Early Modern Europe. In our own papers we will confront the ideas of Dutch contemporary humanists on citizenship and civil duties with the findings of Dutch case studies. Papers that deal broadly with the theme of citizenship, civil services and urban communities in early modern Europe are welcome.
Please send abstract or questions to mpc.vander.heijden@let.vu.nl
