CALL FOR PAPERS
BULLETIN OF THE ROYAL INSTITUTE FOR INTER-FAITH STUDIES (BRIIFS)
SPECIAL ISSUE ON IRAQ
The editors of the Bulletin of the Royal Institute for Inter-Faith Studies (BRIIFS) plan to publish an entire issue of the journal on the modern history, culture, society and politics of Iraq. Articles are invited on any subject that touches upon Iraq’s past and present, its cultural/religious underpinnings, societal development, economic changes or political structure. For the purposes of this issue, the editors define modern Iraq as beginning with the mid-seventeenth century and continuing until the present.
BRIIFS is a biannual, refereed academic journal that publishes articles, notices and book reviews in English and in French. Currently in its seventh year of publication, BRIIFS is intended to provide a venue for interdisciplinary academic inquiry into all fields of the humanities and social sciences that bear on cultural or civilizational interaction, such as anthropology, archaeology, fine arts, history, literature, politics and sociology, and to situate culture contact in a global context. The tables of contents of all issues of BRIIFS may be viewed at www.riifs.org/journal/briifs_contents.htm.
The guest editor is Dr. Hala Fattah. Please send your submissions by e-mail attachment to her address directly < hmf@cyberia.jo> or to briifs@riifs.org by 15 April 2006. You may also send a hard copy by post to the address below. Each paper (8,000-12,000 words) should be accompanied by an abstract (max. 225 words) and a brief biography. Please do not submit papers currently being considered for publication elsewhere.
