We invite you to help celebrate the tercentenary of Benjamin
Franklin’s birth by applying to participate in “Benjamin Franklin and
the Invention of America,” a one-week workshop for K-12
teachers. Each of the two workshops runs for one week and offers the
same program. The first will be held during the week of June 26 and
the second during that of July 3, 2006 (June 26-30 and July 3-7, 2006)
at Villanova University, just outside Philadelphia, and at various
historic sites within the city of Philadelphia.
All full time and part time teachers from private, public, parochial,
and charter schools as well as home schooling parents are eligible to
apply. K-12 school personnel such as administrators, substitute
teachers, paraprofessionals, and librarians are also eligible to
apply. All teachers will receive a $500 stipend for their
participation in the workshop. Funds also will be available on a case-
by-case basis for those traveling long distances.
