The Countway Library of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, an alliance of the Boston Medical Library and Harvard Medical Library, is hosting a unique event on March 1, 2006. Internationally renowned scholars in medieval history and Jewish studies will be coming to the Countway for a special one-day symposium. The symposium will highlight the rare Hyams collection, a world-class collection on Jewish medical texts that includes the earliest of their kind – one of the first printings of the works of Maimonides. This exhibit will be featured as part of this exciting symposium.
This symposium and exhibit will be of interest to your members who have an interest in Jewish history and the history of medicine. Please encourage your members to register in advance, since we have limited seating available for the lectures.
This information is also available at the Countway Library web site at http://www.countway.harvard.edu. Please distribute this information widely. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this event.
Sincerely,
