We're looking for a third and maybe fourth paper to complete a panel to be proposed for the 2007 AHA in Atlanta. Our papers deal with violence and local politics in colonial frontiers in the upper Ohio Valley, backcountry Georgia, and New South Wales. Important themes include how racial violence and local political conflict have contributed to empire building and state formation. A third paper might deal with similar issues either in North America or in other settler colonies (New Zealand, Southern Africa, Australia - surprise us!)
