Our conference "Burl Ives and Popular American Culture of the 1950s" welcomes papers that explore any aspect of Ives's career and films, and in related areas: film history & theory of film adaptation; mid-20th-century folk arts; HUAC & Hollywood; HUAC & folk artists, etc. In conjunction with the Embarras Valley Film Festival, this year honoring native Burl Ives.

Conference to be held on the Eastern Illinois University campus, Charleston, Illinois, Friday, September 22, 2006.
