Arc Boutant Historic Preservation Program continues its summer hands-on preservation course in the Sassi (cave structures, UNESCO World Heritage Monument) of Matera, Italy. The program is organized in collaboration with the Italian historic preservation office.
The program will take place July 14-28, 2006. Through cultural immersion in this remote yet cosmopolitan southern Italian city, the program approaches preservation through a historical, sociological, geographical, and anthropological study of the site as well as through investigation of technical issues of construction and conservation.
A full description of the program is available at: www.arcboutant.org. To apply, please send a c.v. and letter of intent by email to email@example.com. Application deadline: February 28, 2006; extensions available upon request.
