CFP: Social Science History Association panel on Married Women's Property Laws.
Submission deadline: 31 January 2006
I am seeking proposals for papers to submit as a panel for the 2006 Social Science History Association conference (Minneapolis, MN 2-5 November).
My paper looks at the effect of changes in American states' married women's property and earnings legislation on married women's participation in the labor market, and management of businesses; looking at the period from 1870 to 1940.
Papers from any methodological or theoretical perspective, and other countries are welcome. The panel will be submitted through the Economics network, with Family/Demography and Women listed as other networks.
If you are interested in presenting a paper on this topic at the Social Science History conference, please send me a short abstract by January 31 2006, as well as affiliation and address information for submitting the session.
