I am editing a book on the civil rights movement and am writing to ask for contributors. The book will be a reference volume that will be part of a larger series in American Social History published by ABC-Clio. This book is
already under contract.
Contributors will be paid $100 per chapter. Chapters are to be 5000-7500 words, and would have an initial due date of 4/15/05 and then, if necessary, any revisions would need to be made by 6/15/05. Payment will be sent when
the final manuscript is approved by ABC-Clio's editorial board.
The following chapters are available:
1) Early pioneers (pre-cursors to the civil rights movement during the 1920s-1950s)
2) Student Activism
3) Ministers/Clergy and the role of religion
4) Black Nationalism
5) Whites
6) Urban Organizations (CORE, Urban League, NAACP, etc.)
7) Southern Organizations (SNCC, SCLC, Deacons for Defense, etc.)
8) Black Panther Party
