Noted Buddhist scholar and author, Dean Sluyter will lead a a retreat/study/tour in the beautiful Peruvian Andes, to be held March 10-19, 2006. The study tour will be conducted in cooperation with Dr. Hune Margulies, director of the Martin Buber Institute for Dialogical Ecology. The theme will be "Opening to Inner Freedom: Encountering Indigenous Wisdom." Dean will be giving teachings and leading practice sessions in transformative moment-to-moment meditative techniques, particularly as handed down in the Vajrayana Buddhist lineage, and we will enrich our understanding and experience through dialogue with local indigenous shamans.Our touring and practice will take us to the famous Machu Picchu peak as well as many other breathtaking sites. The teachings will be suited both to those who have extensive backgrounds in meditation and those who are relative novices.
