Our idea is simple: one book for each grade that tells parents, kids and teachers everything they need for each grade. Our first book, Let's Get Ready For Kindergarten! has been receiving national acclaim with winning the Adding Wisdom Award from Parent to Parent, a Silver Addy for illustrations from the American Advertising Awards and was selected by Orca Communications as one of the top new products for kids in their Fall Media's Best Guide. We have been in The Milwaukee Journal, Chicago Daily Journal, Cincinnati Enquirer, Los Angeles Family Magazine (November/December edition) and OC (Orange County-CA) Parent Magazine in December and feel overwhelmed at the honor of being selected to be in a new book called "The Best of Us", featuring 50 amazing people that are making the world a better place. Who knew!
We have had success with our book, it's in over 40 school districts and the State of California selected us to complete the next phase in their state review process for distribution to all California State Schools.
Most schools introduce the book in the classroom and send it back and forth, from home to school so the parents and kids become familiar with the curriculum and at the end of the school year, the book is sent home with the kids to keep and enjoy forever with these families.
Most parents want to be involved in the educational process for their kids. Unfortunately, many do not know what to do. Some will be shocked at how advanced the Kindergarten curriculum has become and unfortunately, a few will realize that they should have been working with their children at home before they entered Kindergarten! Teachers, help has arrived! Co-authors, Linda Desimowich and Stacey Kannenberg are on a grass roots mission to help teachers educate parents. We believe parents are responsible for getting their kids ready for that first day of school! It’s not just knowing your name, address, phone number, and tying your shoes, it’s about taking an active role in learning. Never fear, it’s never to late to start and our simple method is working inside homes and schools across the nation.
