The Second EVA/MINERVA International Conference on the Digitisation of Cultural Heritage will take place November 29-30 in Jerusalem.

EVA (http://www.eva-conferences.com) and the MINERVA Network in Israel (http://www.minervaeurope.org) are organizing the second conference on the Digitisation of Cultural Heritage supported by Ministry of Science and Technology and the Jewish Agency for Israel that focuses on the digitisation of cultural and scientific content. The Conference builds on the first Jerusalem Conference, held at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and promotes Israel-Europe cooperation in Culture & Technology.
The conference will take place Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th of November 2005 and will include hands-on workshops, poster presentations and sessions.
Target Audience
Professionals from archives, libraries, museums, broadcasting, the music industry, video and cinema; technological practitioners in the areas of knowledge management, IPR professionals from cultural institutions, databases and library systems, virtual reality and other related fields. Decision makers engaged in local and national digitization programs from foundations, ministries, local authorities and e-government.

The conference is hosting a number of leading European networks and projects dedicated to the digitisation, management and long-term presentation of digital, cultural heritage: EPOCH (in a joint workshop with the Israel Antiquities Authority); MINERVA; The Italian Ministry of Culture Museo and Web (with ICOM); PrestoSpace for Broadcasting Archives (in a workshop with the Forum of Creative Documentary and Film Producers); and the Czech Ministry of Culture which will present their Jewish Cultural Heritage digitized collections and ways of safeguarding them, and DigiCULT , Digital Heritage Research, Salzburg Research, Austria.
