CALL FOR PAPERS
AMERICAN STUDIES GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE
GHOSTLY MATTERS IN AMERICAN STUDIES
I would like to invite paper proposals for a conference concerning the following questions:
What are the "haunted spaces" across American experience that have been insufficiently examined or remain unexplored in American Studies?
What issues are not talked about enough or need to be discussed in different ways?
Who/what are the ghosts in/of American experience? How can American Studies contribute to their embodiment?
We are particularly interested in issues of memory and forgetting, re-presentation and absence. We hope to see projects in non-traditional formats, including documentary film and creative works (i.e.: film, fiction, comix).
