I would like to ask you to help build MemorWiki (www.memorywiki.org ), an archive of personal memories on-line. The goal of MemoryWiki is to allow anyone to permanently record memories of historical events significant in their lives and the lives of their communities. To get a flavor of the kind of memoirs we are gathering, have a look at those already recorded on the site. To add a memoir, visitors need only create a title, and begin typing. That’s all. Visitors can post anonymously if they elect. Memoirs on MemoryWiki will be linked to pertinent historical entries in Wikipedia as primary sources (e.g., a memoir of 9/11 will be linked to the Wikipedia entry on 9/11) . Memorywiki is currently available only in English, but French, German, Spanish and Russian versions will be up and running soon. Memorywiki is a non-profit initiative.
Please add a memoir, and encourage others to do so as well. The archive is only as rich as we make it.
With your help, we hope that MemoryWiki develops into a rich resource for historians and ordinary readers alike. If you have questions, or would like to participate as an editor or in some other capacity, do not hesitate to contact me.
All the Best,
Marshall Poe
