An international and interdisciplinary conference organised by the Humanities Research Centre of the University of Warwick.
Twenty-minute papers are sought on any aspect of nonsense literature, with no geographical or chronological restrictions. We welcome papers focusing on specific texts, as well as papers discussing more general issues, such as the formal aspects of nonsense literature, or its connection with other literary forms, or its philosophical or socio-historical premisses. The aim is that of exploring the boundaries and mechanisms of nonsense (and perhaps, through those, saying something about the mechanisms of poetry and literature in general) by combining a theoretical approach with an ostensive method. Keynote speakers include Professors Barbara C. Bowen, Jean-Jacques Lecercle, and Michelangelo Zaccarello.
