This is to announce the new editorship of THE JOURNAL OF TRANSPORT HISTORY (JTH). For more than half a century JTH, published by Manchester University Press, has been the only fully peer-reviewed journal in its field. The journal is affiliated with the International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility (T2M). JTH's new editor, dr.ing. Gijs Mom (Eindhoven University of Technology) and Deputy Editor dr. Bruce Pietrykowski (University of Michigan-Dearborn) encourage scholars to submit articles that investigate new directions in the history of transport and mobility. We welcome submissions that make use of innovative methodologies stemming from cultural, gender and ethnic studies, deal with transnational and transmodal users (pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcyclists, pleasure boat users) or engage in debates regarding the recently announced 'cultural turn' or the relationship with tourism history or urban planning and transport policy. We also encourage submissions on geographical areas beyond Europe and the United States and submissions that explore the borders of our field.
