Professional Development Opportunity For Pennsylvania Public Historians!
Registration Subventions for the 120th American Historical Association Annual Meeting January 5−8, 2006, Philadelphia
The American Historical Association, through a grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, will offer a modest number of meeting registration subventions to regional public historians who would not otherwise attend the meeting. Successful applicants will receive full meeting registration to the meeting, which will feature over 300 sessions on various historical topics. The full program will be available online at www.historians.org/annual in mid-October
To qualify for the subvention, you must derive your primary income from work in a nonacademic, public history institution or organization in Pennsylvania or the Philadelphia region. Applicants should submit a brief statement of interest and need on institutional letterhead, noting how attending the meeting will contribute to their professional development and why funds are being requested, to American Historical Association, Attn: Debbie Doyle, 400 A Street SE Washington DC 20003 by November 15. Recipients will notified in mid-December. Applicants should not be members of the Association. Questions? Contact Dr. Debbie Ann Doyle at ddoyle@historians.org.
