The Midwest Slavic Association, the Ohio State University Center for Slavic and East European Studies, and the OSU Office of International Affairs proudly announce the 2006 Midwest Slavic Conference, to be held at the Blackwell Hotel and Conference Center (www.theblackwell.com) from 2-4 March 2006 on the campus of Ohio State University.
The conference will open with a keynote address and reception on the evening of Thursday 2 March, followed by two days of academic and business-related panels.
Conference organizers are inviting proposals for panels or individual papers addressing all disciplines related to Slavic histories, political science, literatures, linguistics, sociology, economics, and other fields. Please send a one-paragraph abstract, along with a brief c.v. to csees@osu.edu by 15 January 2006.
The Midwest Slavic Conference is now a permanent fixture at Ohio State and since 2003 has drawn an average of 32 panels with over 120 presenters from 30 different colleges and universities.
Persons proposing papers must be willing to be scheduled either Friday or Saturday. Graduate students are particularly encouraged to submit presentations. Limited funding will be available to subsidize graduate travel and hotel stays.
