We are pleased to announce this term's Champlain Saint-Lawrence Seminars, the first of which is to be held in two weeks in Montreal, and for which we will shortly be circulating a paper.

1) Friday, October 28th, 3-5PM, McGill University, Montréal. Guillaume Aubert (Williams College), "From One Blood to Blad Blood: The Transatlantic Articulation of Assimilation and Race in New France, 1609-1709." Professor Aubert's seminar will be hosted by the Quebec Studies Programme at McGill University, 3644 Peel Street, room 514 (for directions, please contact stephan.gervais@mcgill.ca)

2) Monday November 28, 3-5PM, Valcour Centre, Valcour, NY. Elizabeth Elbourne (McGill University), "Violence and the Politics of Memory: The reputation of Joseph Brant in Translatlantic Circulation." (For directions, contact james.rice@plattsburgh.edu).
