The Graduate Students in History at McGill University and Queen’s University are pleased to invite proposals for the Annual McGill-Queen's Student Conference in History. The intention of the conference is to bring together graduate students working in a wide variety of fields in order to foster discussion in a multidisciplinary and bilingual environment. We encourage submissions from students of all historical periods and places, working in either French or English, on the broad theme of Formations/Transformations. Proposals should not exceed 250 words and should be accompanied by a short biographical sketch.

The deadline for submissions is January 6, 2006, and the conference will be held at McGill University in Montreal, March 16-18, 2006. The keynote address will be given by Professor Natalie Zemon Davies, Charles Lea Professor of History, Emeritus, Princeton University.

We encourage a broad interpretation of the conference theme from a variety of fields and backgrounds.

Les étudiants aux cycles supérieurs en histoire des universités McGill et Queen's vous invitent à soumettre votre proposition de communication pour leur conférence étudiante annuelle. Le but de cette conférence est de rassembler des étudiants à la maîtrise et au doctorat travaillant sur un vaste éventail de champs de recherches touchant à l'histoire afin de favoriser la tenue de discussions dans un environnement bilingue et multidisciplinaire. Nous encourageons les étudiants intéressés à l'histoire de toutes périodes et de toutes régions du monde à soumettre (en français ou en anglais) leur communication qui se rattache au thème «Formation/Transformation». La conférence se déroulera à l'Université McGill (Montréal) du 16 au 18 mars 2006.

Votre proposition de communication ne doit pas excéder 250 mots et doit être accompagné d’un CV abrégé. La date limite pour soumettre une communication est le 6 janvier, 2006.

Le thème de la conférence doit être interprété de façon très large et peut toucher à une variété de champs de recherches et de traditions historiographiques.
