The Blackburn College Labor Studies Center is sponsoring its 2nd Annual Labor Studies Symposium on Feb. 17 and 18, 2006 at Blackburn College in Carlinville, IL. We encourage interdisciplinary perpectives from faculty and graduate students alike concerning the impact of economic integration in the Americas. We invite scholarly papers on any of the following or related topics: economic costs and benefits of global or regional integration, history of worker's movements, literary studies of labor or work, governmental responses to labor rights, impact of free trade agreements on workers, conflicts between culture and integration, aspects of migration and immigration relating to work, relationships between labor and gender or labor and race/ethnicity, and comparative ethics of work.
