A series of two workshops on Asian theater will take place on February 3-5 and March 10-12, 2006. This workshop series is designed for faculty in primarily undergraduate institutions who seek high quality opportunities for faculty development to expand their intellectual and pedagogical horizons beyond their academic training.
Presenting scholars will provide a broad-based foundation in Asian theater studies, upon which participants can further build their interests in the subject, and more generally in the study of Asian cultures. The first workshop (February 3-5) will center on Japanese classical theater, while the second workshop on South/Southeast Asia will focus on theaters from India and Indonesia (March 10-12).
With the generous support of the NEH, we are able to offer a stipend and travel assistance to selected participants.
