Abstracts and panel proposals are now being accepted by the History, Heritage and Nostalgia in American Culture Area of the American Culture Association for possible inclusion at the 2006 Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association conference in Atlanta, GA. The conference will be held April 12-16, 2006 at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis Hotel. For more information about the conference, please visit http://www.h-net.org/~pcaaca/ .
We are looking for abstracts, single paper proposals and panel proposals on any aspect of history, heritage and/or nostalgia in American culture, including, but not limited to, historically based leisure activities such as genealogy, quilt and antique collecting and scrapbooking, local history collections and activities, visitorship to historical museums/sites, heritage tourism, and the use of history and nostalgia in movies, television and popular fiction.
Potential participants do not need to be members to submit proposals; however, membership in either PCA or ACA and registration for the conference are required in order to present. The deadline for conference registration is March 1, 2006.
Please send (100-250 words) paper proposals, panel proposals (4 speakers and/or discussion panels of 4-6 participants) or abstracts (including title) by November 1, 2005 to:

Paper acceptance obligates participants to present the paper at the conference. Multiple submissions to different areas are not allowed. Please note that you must be present at the conference to read your own paper.
