Call for Papers for the 35th Annual Joint Conference of the Popular
Culture and American Culture Associations
Atlanta, Georiga, April 12-16, 2006
Deadline: November 1, 2005
The 36th annual joint conference of the Popular Culture and American
culture Associations will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, April 12-16,
2006. The Biography and Popular Culture Area of the Popular Culture
Association welcomes submissions from scholars of various disciplines.
The Biography and Popular Culture Area will examine the connections
between biography and popular culture. Papers and full panel
presentations regarding any aspect of popular culture and biography are
encouraged.
Potential topic might include:
Biography and entertainment, art, music, theater
Biography and film
Television programs about biography
Biography and urban legends
Biography and folklore
Biography and literature
Scholarly Biography
Controversial Biography
Psychoanalysis and Biography
Historical Biography
Political Biography
Autobiography
Prospective presenters should send a one-page, typed, single spaced
abstract and a one page vitae by November 1, 2005 to:

Please do not submit an abstract electronically. Direct questions to cmccutcheon@uscupstate.edu.
PCA/ACA regulations limit participants to one paper presentation.
Therefore, if you are interested in presenting in the Biography and
Popular Culture Area, please do not submit an abstract to another area,
but follow up on original submission if you do not hear from the chair
