Panel on gender and the survey course, WAWH Spring 2006
|
Hello, all listers! I am interested in assembling a roundtable on incorporating gender history into the survey course for the next Western Association of Women Historians (WAWH) Conference, to be held May 5-6 2006 in Pacific Grove, CA.
I envision this panel as a practical discussion of what works and what doesn’t when in comes to making gender a part of the traditional survey course (i.e. United States History to 1865, World Civ, etc.). Tips, tricks, strategies, and difficulties that we can share with other instructors would be ideal. Since I’d like this to be as practical a panel as possible, I’m hoping to have participants from a range of disciplines, particularly European, Colonial American, Asian, American Studies, etc. I’d also love to have a commentator.
If you’re interested, contact me by Friday Oct. 8 at evwallis@csupomona.edu and let me know what you’re interested in bringing to the table. Deadline for conference submissions will be Nov.1.
