New York University in France in collaboration with the University of Paris X-Nanterre and the Séminaire Cinéma & Sciences Humaines is pleased to announce a day-long tribute to anthropologist and filmmaker Jean Rouch, on Friday October 7th at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris. The day-long symposium includes film screenings of Rouch's "Petit à Petit" and "Moi, un Noir", as well as the documentary "Conversations with Jean Rouch" by filmmaker Ann McIntosh. Two round-table discussions are planned: "Cinema verité, anthropology & fiction" with Marceline Loridan-Ivens, Marc-Henri Piault, and Richard Leacock, among others, and "Jean Rouch and the French New Wave," with Raymond Depardon, Bernard Surugue, and Laurence Braunberger.
