I INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SPANISH PHILOLOGY: YOUNG RESEARCHERS
«Methodological guidances»
II International Seminar on Spanish Linguistics (SILHis)
I Symposium on Literary Research
VI International Meeting of Novice Philologists (Basilea-Oviedo)
Between the 8th and the 11th of May 2006, a meeting of young researchers in the fields of Spanish Literature and Linguistics will take place in the Faculty of Philology of the University of Oviedo. The schedule of the conference will be structured in order to hold six public lectures, a roundtable conference and several simultaneous communication sessions in which all the topics in the wide thematic spectrum of the Spanish Philology will be covered as faithfully as possible.
The main aim of this initiative is to offer an approach to the Philological problems and research methods through the impressions of the own researchers. Thus, the different contributions will be oriented towards the reflection on the origin, development and results of specific research processes –ex. g., the applicability of certain theoretical or methodological systems, the role of interdisciplinary studies, the functionality of New Technologies, etc.
All young researchers in hold of a degree in Spanish Philology or in hold of a PhD awarded after January 2000 are welcomed to submit proposals of communication papers. The authors must send an abstract of no more than 250 words to congresojovenes@gmail.com before the 28th of February 2006. The subject of the e-mail must express to which of the following thematic areas the proposal is related:
A) Language and Linguistics.
B) Literature and Literary Theory.
The abstracts must be accompanied by the name of the author and the organization or institution in which his/her research is developed.
The number of selected communication papers will be limited, and fairly distributed –depending on their thematic profile– amongst the II International Seminar on Spanish Linguistics (SILHis) and the I Symposium on Literary Research. The proposals will be examined by a Scientific Committee that will consider, fundamentally, the adequacy of the papers to the main objective of the Conference (see above.
