Religion and Gender in the Early Modern Period
This is a call for papers for a collection of essays that brings into dialogue male and female voices on the question of gender and religion in the literature, visual arts, religious writings, archives, and culture of the late medieval and early modern period. We are interested in treatments of authors who directly or indirectly engage one another in debate, but we are also interested in bringing into dialogue male and female voices of authors who may not necessarily have known of each other’s work but who nonetheless speak to one another.
Send abstracts or completed essays by March 15, 2006, to Karen Raber (kraber@olemiss.edu), or Ivo Kamps (egkamps@olemiss.edu) at Department of English, University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677; or to Joseph Ward (jward@olemiss.edu), Department of History, University of Mississippi, University, MS 38677.
