This year's annual conference of the Canadian Association of American Studies will be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on the topic of "America & Violence". Presenters will be exploring the role of violence in American history and culture from a broad range of perspectives. Plenary speakers will be John O'Brian of the University of British Columbia and Mark Seltzer of the University of California at Los Angeles.
