DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 1 November 2005
The New Black Music Culture Area of the Popular Culture Association and American Culture Association invite interested scholars to submit paper or performance abstracts, papers, or panel/roundtable proposals on the following sub-areas of black music culture:
(1) Jazz and Blues
(2) Gospel/Spirituals
(3) Hip Hop
(4) Contemporary “Concert Music”
(5) Black Diaspora (West African, Cuban, West Indies, Europe, etc.)
(6) Popular and Contemporary
Please submit the following information via e-mail with attachments in Microsoft Word or within an e-mail message:
• Contact information of each author/performer/ participant: Name, Affiliation, Address, E-Mail Address
• Association membership*: PCA or ACA
• Sub-area: Jazz and Blues; Gospel/Spirituals; Hip Hop; Contemporary “Concert Music”; Black Diaspora; or Popular and Contemporary
• 150-200 word paper/performance abstract or panel/roundtable proposal abstract
• 1 page CV or Résumé
