The 2nd Biennial WGHOM Conference will be held Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, 2006 at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. The Conference theme is "At the Crossroads of Women's and Gender History." The program committee of WGHOM welcomes proposals from historians and independent and interdisciplinary scholars and graduate students. Please submit abstracts (300 word maximum) to Yvonne Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or Paula Hinton at email@example.com by November 1, 2005.
All presenters must register for the conference. Suggested topics include but are not limited to the following: oral histories of women; education and interpretation; women as literary, visual or performance artists; history of women's studies programs; race, class and gender in United States History; the evaluation of female faculty/performance review issues in colleges and universities; and consciousness raising sessions on the trials (or opportunities) of being a woman professional in the classroom.
