The New York City Law Review, edited by students of the City University of New York School of Law, exclusively publishes articles focused on issues in the public interest, reflecting the School of Law's mission, while serving the New York City community. To further this public-interest focus, last year the Law Review announced the initiation of a Public Interest Practice Section.
This year we are again soliciting articles from the general legal community, including student works, which incorporate "lessons from the field" of public interest practice. Such articles may be shorter than the traditional law review article and take various forms, from practice tips to reviews of experience in practice. We encourage attorneys who are pushing the margins of legal advocacy for underrepresented communities and breaking new ground in the practice of public interest law to take this opportunity to pass on valuable knowledge to others. We also encourage law students who have worked in conjunction with a practitioner to work together on memorializing their experiences. Articles focusing on issues particularly relevant to New York will be given special consideration.
Contributors should submit articles for consideration by October 1, 2005.
Abstracts and papers should be submitted in Word format to nyclr@mail.law.cuny.edu, or mailed on disk to:
