Dr. Tom Ward of Rockhurst University and I seek a third panelist for a session on “POW Narratives as Military History” for the 2006 Soc for Military History meeting in Manhattan, Kansas, May 18-21, 2006. The panel will explore how POW narratives are constructed, transmitted, and consumed as part of Military History. Dr. Ward’s paper will deal with African American POWs during the Korean War. My paper will deal with Union POWs held in Confederate prison camps. We are seeking a third paper on any aspect of POW studies that relates to the basic conference theme: The Construction, Reconstruction, and Consumption of Military History.
