The Child Nutrition Archives at the National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI) is pleased to announce its first symposium on Child Nutrition Programs (CNP). The event will be held on the Oxford campus of the University of Mississippi, March 20 - 21, 2006. We invite presentation proposals concerning the history, implementation, and development of the federally funded U.S. CNP (National School Lunch, School Breakfast, Special Milk, and Child and Adult Care Food Program) and feeding programs that predate the federal programs. Historians, political scientists, and scholars in related fields are encouraged to submit proposals. Interdisciplinary collaborations are particularly encouraged. Each presenter will be given 25 minutes with time at the end for questions from the audience.
Submission Procedure:
Please email a 250-word abstract that includes a title and brief description of the presentation and a CV for each presenter to mwjohnst@olemiss.edu. Please include mailing address, email, phone number, and institutional affiliation. Proposals will also be accepted via mail at: The Child Nutrition Archives at NFSMI, P.O. Box 188, University, MS 38677-0188. Deadline for submissions is December 2, 2005. Selected proposals and a final program will be announced December 19, 2005. Travel stipends will be awarded to selected presenters.
